It's so easy to sabotage your healthy lifestyle during a busy week. Sometimes it feels impossible to keep up with making healthy meals, getting to the gym and getting enough sleep. Thankfully there are a few quick and easy ways to handle a stressful week without reversing all you hard work.
Plan Meals
Meal prep is one of the best things you can do to prepare for the week ahead. When you already have dinner ready to be heated up, you won't have to grab fast food or skip the meal altogether. It also saves the hassle of deciding what to cook because it's already made ;)
Prep Your Kitchen (or Dorm Room)
To prep meals for the week, you have to have the right supplies. Use this time to get all the necessary ingredients you need and stock up on healthy snacks. This will save you from running to the vending machine or mindlessly downing a bag of chips.
Schedule Exercise
I know..exercise is the last thing on your mind when you are super busy. However, they just might calm you down more than you think. There are days when I just want to lay in bed and not move but before even sitting down to rest before a workout, I put my gym clothes on. That way I know there's no turning back now. And just think, a workout should be 30 minutes or more. That's a half hour out of your day. You can do it.
Pack Your Bags
This is something I do every night before bed. If I don't, there's a likely chance that I'll be running late the next morning. I pack up my backpack with everything I need for the next day so I can grab it and go in the morning. I also pick out what I'm going to wear (even if it's a lazy day and I'm wearing sweats!). I find it much better to be indecisive at night when you have time as opposed to in the morning when you have places to be!
Take Time for Yourself
I know this sounds impossible, but trust me. You will thank me. I always make it a point to schedule "lazy time." During the week, it's usually right before bed. I'll curl up and watch a tv show or read a book. It's important to unwind and give yourself a break. A healthy body needs a healthy mind.
