Hi! My name is Rachel Ehrensberger and I'm currently a 19 year old in college studying Nutrition and Dietetics. I've always had a passion for health, physical and mental. I chose to create this blog to share my journey and educate everyone on what I'm learning. Stay tuned for recipes, nutrition information and much more. :)
Where it all began.. My journey with nutrition began my freshman year in high school. I have always struggled with body image and this was the first time I took my health into my own hands and started to lose weight. I started with good intentions but it turned into an obsession. I was terrified of eating too much, exercising constantly and stressing over the numbers on the scale. This turned into a vicious cycle of bingeing, starving myself and hating my body. I started to get it under control during my senior year of high school. I was doing well, at a healthy weight and completely happy with my life. Things changed when I got to college. I had a very hard time making friends and felt isolated from everyone. I'm not much of a "party girl" and spent a lot of my time alone. This caused my disordered thoughts to act up. I kept telling myself I wasn't worth friendships. I was never invited to get lunch or dinner so I usually ended up not eating it. I dropped weight quickly and my friends and family started to get worried. That's when I made the decision to change. I knew something had to be done. I began researching and decided to change my major to Nutrition and transfer schools. I'm proud to say that I've been eating clean and getting my life back on track. In the picture on the far left I was at my highest weight and I was really battling with my eating habits. The middle picture is during my freshman year of college, also my lowest weight. The picture on the far right is a more recent picture of how my body currently looks. I've been really working on toning up and will be sure to share my future progress. :)
On a more personal note, I go to school at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have been dating my boyfriend, Sean for almost two years. He goes to school at Georgia Tech, so we've been doing the whole long distance relationship. It has it's ups and downs but I wouldn't trade it for the world. This is us... :)
