The other definition is the super intense but super effective workout created by Shaun T. I've heard a ton about Insanity over the past few years. Two summers ago, I actually attempted to start the workout but I gave up after the Fit Test (if you are unfamiliar with the program that's day 1..). Now, two years later, I'm trying again. When I first tried to start this workout, I gave up on myself so easily. I was not in a good place mentally and found myself giving into the negative voices in my head.
"It's too hard."
"You're not strong enough."
"Just do something easier."
This time, I'm ignoring the negative thoughts and focusing on positives. Over the past two years, I dealt with transitioning to college life, going through recovery, and losing loved ones. It was these trying times that caused me to discover who I truly am.
This may sound super corny and you're probably wondering why I'm posting this big story about Insanity but starting this workout over and having the strength is a big accomplishment for me. It's the satisfaction of not giving up. It's proving to myself that I am strong enough to handle anything that comes my way. Working out has always been my escape and has increased my confidence greatly. It just goes to show that those endorphins that are supposed to come after a workout are actually real.
What motivates you to get through tough workouts?
Until Next Time,
"It's too hard."
"You're not strong enough."
"Just do something easier."
